The best way to understand your swing is to SEE your swing. To do this you need immediate visual feedback as you go through your swing. The only problem is that the most critical elements of your golf swing - the swing path and swing plane - cannot be seen with the naked eye. That is, a swing path and swing plane are theoretical elements of a swing that require something besides your eyes to see -- a tool is needed. This is precisely where the Laser Trainer provides dramatic help.Customer Review: Instant feedback
When I used this product the first time, I was surprised to see how much I was off the ideal plane. I could immediately correct my swing and when I started hitting balls, my new swing felt more natural and the shots went straighter. The only negative I have is that the enclosed VHS tape is useless as I have thrown out my video-player a long time ago.
Customer Review: A great tool for swing plane
I am a low handicap golfer [usually shooting in the 70's] but was plagued by inconsistant ball flight [pushes/blocks to the right and pulls to the left]. I bought the laser trainer to help with my consistantcy and repeatability with my swing. The laser trainer immediately showed me that my swing plane was considerably off from the ideal. I think the best part of the laser trainer is that it gets you in the ideal position on the backswing. To be accurate, it doesn't give you feedback at the top of the backswing as the lasers aren't visible on the mat at that point. But, it gets you into correct position/plane at the point where your left arm is parallel to the ground and your wrists are set/cocked. From there, it's only a matter of swinging back a little further to complete the swing. I was surprised at how incorrect my technique was prior to using the laser trainer. With consistant use, it becomes second nature getting the club on plane on the backswing. It also gives you feedback on the downswing position coming into the ball. Since using this trainer I have a very consistant ball flight and as much power as before but with less effort due to better technique/plane. I haven't used the trainer as a putting aid at this point but I imagine it would be very useful in that respect as well. I have also tried other swing trainers {Medicus, Pro Angle Plus] with some success, with the Medicus probably the best next to the laser trainer. But the laser trainer for me has given me the best results as there is no way to 'cheat' the device to make it work with incorrect technique, the lasers show you if you are on plane or not. Like any trainer, you need to use it to get results, but if you do, it should help golfers at all levels to improve by getting the swing on plane.
